Old Fashioned Rice Pudding

Homemade, easy rice pudding with a sweet southern taste of cinnamon and spices that will leave you wanting more. So good, you'll think your grandma made it herself!

Makes 4 Servings

Ingredients

1 large egg 1½ cups whole milk ¼ cup sugar 1½ cups cooked rice ¼ teaspoon kosher salt ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon ¼ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg 1 tablespoon unsalted butter ½ teaspoon pure vanilla

Directions

Combine rice, 1 cup milk, sugar, and salt in a 2qt saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat until thick and creamy, 10 to 15 minutes. Combine egg and ½ cup milk and add to the rice mix. Add cinnamon and nutmeg and cook over medium-high heat for an additional 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla. May be served hot, chilled, or at room temperature.
